Executive Travel hosted 70 clients and their families aboard the Spirit of New Zealand on Auckland harbour last Sunday.
This was an incredibly unique opportunity to sail on this vessel. The Spirit of Adventure Trust provides a programme for young New Zealanders offering 10 day voyages designed to focus on team work, leadership, independence, problems solving and self esteem. Learning to sail a tall ship is a means to an end rather than a specific objective.
“What a fantastic way to spend a sunny Auckland afternoon – our staff and clients got to spend quality time with their families and experience a rare opportunity to be on a Tall Ship of this stature”. says Executive Travel Group’s Director, Kevin Weston.
During the harbour cruise the crew on board got everyone including the children involved in sailing the boat and it was evident that teamwork is essential. “While most of us were happy to have drinks and nibbles while the crew climbed the sails, it certainly demonstrated the self esteem and motivation this programme inspires. The afternoon was very relaxed and casual. A perfect opportunity for us to thank clients for their loyalty and get to know them better” says Executive Travel Group’s Director, Kevin Weston.
